Leather Working Group is a multi-stakeholder organisation, which includes brands, leather manufacturers, industry suppliers, and affiliate organisations.
As a working group we are driven by our common objective to continually raise the bar and drive continuous improvement in the industry. To that end, the LWG standards are constantly evolving with active engagement and expert input from our stakeholders.
Collaboration and consultation also enable us to support broader initiatives such as the critical topics of traceability and deforestation due diligence within the value chain.
Start your journey to LWG certification
Your business may be certified if you manufacture or trade leather. Since 2005, we have designed standards to certify all actors in the supply chain, from rawhide to finished leather, covering micro-enterprises to large tanneries. In fact, the majority of our certified suppliers are small leather manufacturers.
If your business is a leather manufacturer, leather trader, commissioning manufacturer, or subcontractor, your organisation may be eligible to be audited against the applicable LWG audit standard. (The Leather Working Group audit standards do not allow the auditing and certification of any facility which process or trades in fur.) In order to gain certification, your business will need to be audited by an LWG Approved Auditor.

- 能源消耗：评估企业的能源使用效率和节能措施。
- 用水：关注企业的用水情况和水资源管理。
- 空气和噪音排放：对企业生产过程中产生的空气污染物和噪音的排放进行评估。
- 废物管理：包括废物的产生、分类、处理和处置等环节。
- 废水处理：废水处理设施和处理效果的评估。
- 卫生、安全和应急准备：保障员工的卫生、安全条件以及企业的应急响应能力。
- 化学品管理：对生产过程中使用的化学品的采购、储存、使用和处置进行管理。
- 业务管理：涉及企业的日常运营管理、质量管理等方面。
