一封邮件,丢掉31W美金订单
2月初通过FACEBOOK开发了这个澳大利亚客户,是通过同行的好友认识联系起来的。 看了客户的主页,里面有公司名字,网站,邮箱,客户的WHATSAPP等。于是当作重点客户跟进起来。 先是发了一封开发信,客户没回复。然后WHATSAPP给客户发信息,阅读没回复。过了两天直接给客户打了电话,客户接了电话,语气很和蔼,听起来像6,70岁的爷爷。简单的自我介绍后,客户说一直从中国采购,有稳定的供应商,而且这个行业已经做了近20年了。 我也很直接,说我们想做他们新的供应商,不是备用供应商。客户在电话那头也笑起来了,说了一句:let me see what you can help in our business。 挂完电话不到半小时,客户通过邮件把他的订单需求发过来了。我一看,4个高柜的询价,单一型号,在我们行业单一型号这么大的量极少见,一般都是几个或者十几个型号以上一个订单,或者一个型号一个柜子居多。由于是准客户,又这么大的量,我和工厂确认价格后加了8个点利润报过去。 客户回复了,说我报价有点偏高,我说如果这个订单一个星期内能确认的话,我让2个点。客户很满意,说让我等他通知。 接下来一个多星期,客户保持沟通,问交期,包装,认证,贴牌之类的问题。半个月前客户又来还价,问我价格还有没有空间。我的邮件回复内容如下: Dear Mr Martin, Many customers always ask about big quantity at the beginning, but final order quantity only around 1/3 to 1/5 of the quantity they talked. Because they want to know our best price for bulk quantity. Please confirm again your order quantity is 14000pcs or? I'll check if any discounts available here. 接下来客户再也没回信,期间跟进了3封邮件没回,发了WHATSAPP信息没回,打了电话没接。直到今天早上收到客户的回复,说订单已经下给他的老供应商。14000个数量,订单金额31W美金,我又看了几遍当时给客户回复的那封邮件,久久没平静下来。不仔细看好像没问题,细细看好像有点问题,但客户用了doubt这个词,就不是一般的问题了,我们价格比他供应商低了3个点,他订单还是下给了他的原供应商。 智者千虑还有一失,更何况我们普通大众。这件事最深刻的反思,不是丢了订单丢了客户,而是从一而终的信任。外贸人一起共勉吧,加油

第二个误区,就是在开发信里躲躲闪闪。什么意思呢?因为过去有这么一个概念,中国人做事含蓄,我要先跟你闲聊,跟你说我是来跟你合作的,但是我又不明确告诉你我是来给你推销什么产品的,写开发信不能太像推销信。但是我想说的是,客户没有那么多时间跟你去玩文字游戏,去猜你在想什么,你要明确的告诉他,我就是来向你推销的,我是来向你推销a产品的,而且我的产品跟你的需求是精准匹配的,我有足够的优势让你选择我。那么这就是一个商务信函,也就是开发信的一个作用。我们没有必要躲躲闪闪的,我希望大家从这个圈里慢慢地出来,因为中国人做生意确实有这么一个误区,就是“含蓄”。这个“含蓄”在邮件沟通里非常的致命。 第三个误区,不敢尝试。整个的外贸界,可以说是一个大神比较密集的这么一个行业,做上2-3年他就可以出来写一个文章:我认为我的开发信是怎么样的,每一个做过3-5年的人都可以写一套开发信出来。那么新人进入这个行业第一个反应就是,我要从网上搜一些开发信模板,这个模板是怎样的呢?那就是要抄别人的,抄他的结构。然后会从第一年进入这个行业之后就不会去改,或者说就算是改也不会伤筋动骨的去改,他会按照这个模式一路走下去。明明效果并不是很好,但是他也不愿意出来。因为他不敢尝试。他认为前人的开发信是正确的,没有问题的,自己跳出来可能效果会更差。但是我这里想说一句,开发信一定要敢于尝试。

Waiting for your favorable reply soon! 之后的日子里,可以尝试新产品的报价,刺激下客人的神经. 我通常是这样写的: good day! my quotation of digital photo frame you might have received and considerated. could you kindly advise your comments at your earlier convenience? if the products is not your are expecting,pls advise me your details requirement, i will re-offer asap. i am of service at any time! 但是,不同的客人,我会变换着写邮件,让客人知道我们公司,产品的存在.我不会把客人缠得太紧,约十来天给他一封邮件我通常这样回复的: Dear ***, Wish you have a nice day! May I ask whether you have received my quotation?Now I am sending it again,if you have any other ideas.Please feel free to contact me.We will do much better if you can give any advices to us. I am waiting for your reply ASAP.
